TRI-MAX 3-gallon unit for smaller fires
PERFORMANCE:
This TRI-MAX unit is capable of producing up to 60 gallons of fire
fighting foam with a flow rate of 90 gpm. Duration time is
approximately 40 to 80 seconds depending on the discharge rate. When
discharged, a foam coverage of 400 sq. ft. with a discharge distance
of 35 feet or more can be realized.
SIZE AND WEIGHT:
The unit is compact and portable with a height of 26 in. and a width
of 9½ in. A fully charged system weighs approximately 36 pounds.
This unit is great for fighting fires on board fishing and pleasure
crafts. It can be used anywhere there is a need to fight a fire.
SPECIFICATIONS:
AGENT
TANK:
The agent tank holds 30 gallons of pre-mix foam agent and is
manufactured in accordance with ASME standards. The unit includes a
fill funnel plus a garden hose adapter to facilitate easy foam and
water filling. The tank is coated with an epoxy polyurethane red
paint.
TRANSPORT FRAME:
A tubular steel framework supports the agent tank, two (2) high
pressure air vessels and discharge hose. The unit incorporates a
“roll bar” design to protect components from accidental damage. Two
(2) large semi-pneumatic tires plus two (2) swivel wheels and tow
bar allow the unit to be horizontally towed and maneuvered at the
fire scene or to be wheeled and positioned vertically. The frame,
roll bar and tow unit are coated with an epoxy polyurethane yellow
paint.
AIR SUPPLY:
Two (2) 80 cu. ft. 3000 psi Scuba air cylinders are provided with
each unit. One (1) air cylinder is capable of discharging the full
agent tank at normal blend-air settings. High pressure air hose and
connections are rated for 5000 psi. One or two high volume air
regulators (87 cfm, 155 psi ) are provided and matched to the
discharge flow rating. All low pressure air hose are steel braided,
¼ in. 300 psi, 210 degrees F. All ball valves are rated for 400 psi.
A pressure relief valve is provided, set at 200 psi, for added
protection. A pressure gauge is provided to indicate system
operating pressure.
DISCHARGE SYSTEM:
50 feet of 1 in. rubber discharge hose is provided ( maximum hose
lay - 500 feet ). A blend-air valve is conveniently located to
adjust the foam expansion ratio from 5:1 to 20:1 or more. The
pressurization is created by a quick opening valve on the low
pressure side of the regulator, allowing the system to be stored and
transported without pressure until needed for fire fighting (
activation time 5 sec.).
PERFORMANCE:
The unit is capable of discharging up to 600 gpm of fire fighting
foam. Duration time shall be from 1½ to 6 minutes depending on
discharge rate. Foam coverage distance is 75 feet or more!
